Inside The Tibet Post International
Inside The Tibet Post International
The Tibet Post International (TPI), a Tibetan news press based in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala, India, is officially launched by an independent non-profit organization "Himalayan Literacy Trust" (HLT) founded by a group of young Tibetan journalists with the primary goal of promoting democracy through freedom of expression within Tibetan communities, both in exile and under occupation in Tibet. To support the ongoing struggle of Tibetans everywhere, we promote peace and the preservation of human rights through our trilingual daily online newspaper. The Tibet Post International is supported by the South Tyrol Regional Parliament, Italy. Without their support, we would not be able to continue providing up-to-date press coverage of Tibetan issues. The Tibet Post International is the newest independent news agency in exile formed by "Himalayan Literacy Trust" (HLT), started in 2008. HLT is registered in 2010, under the district magistrate of Kangra, Himachal, government of India (Registration No: 235/2010. Registraton Date: 07/04/2010. Book No. 1).. HLT's operations are permitted to all India and Himalayan regions. On December 10th 2007, TPI temporarily launched and tested a trilingual website, www.thetibetpost.com, in English, Tibetan, and Chinese. It was the first independent trilingual daily online newspaper-in-exile, and remains the only one in existence. The Tibet Post focuses on Tibet-related issues, closely following the developments inside Tibet as well as reporting on the ...

Post Olympics - Tibetans continue protest at Chinese Embassy
Post Olympics - Tibetans continue protest at Chinese Embassy
Date: 25th August, 2008 11 members of the Tibetan Youth Congress staged an aggressive demonstration at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi at around 2:30 pm today to protest the intensified repression in Tibet since the March Uprising inside Tibet. After the forceful protest near the Chinese Embassy for half an hour, all the members have been detained at the Chankyapuri Police Station. The members chained themselves to the pole near the embassy to prolong their protest. They raised slogans demanding the Chinese government to 'Quit Tibet". An attempt to hang a banner was foiled by the police who tore the banner apart. So far, the cases registered against our members are not known. Among the 11 members today were TYC Joint Secretary Tenzin Norsang and members of RTYC Delhi Rohini, Samyeling, Herbertpur and Dharamshala. The protest was staged one day after the conclusion of the Beijing Olympics 2008 to remind the world that Tibet continues to remain under the brutal colonial occupation of the Chinese government that has perpetrated continuing violence against the Tibetan people with impunity. As the Beijing 2008 Olympics was concluded at the Birds Nest (Cage) Stadium, the words of the IOC officials who claimed that bringing the Olympics to China will improve the human rights situation inside China must be examined and the IOC must be held accountable for the promises that have not been delivered. The IOC must not be allowed to walk away by committing moral violence and ...
